Betty

Young Betty was found as a stray in someone’s garden, and fast-tracked her way into rescue because she was very pregnant.   She was pretty clearly a first time and rather bemused young mum, but is now well into the process of  weaning and litter training her kittens.   We’re hoping the kittens will be off to their new homes early to mid August, and then Bettty will be looking for a second chance in life, a chance to enjoy being a young cat with no responsibilities other than to rediscover her inner kitten and learn to play again.  She’s a sweet little girl who needs to get her life back on track.

Betty has been health checked and all is well.  She’s booked in to be spayed and microchipped, and will also be vaccinated prior to rehoming.    She’s currently indoors of course, but once she’s settled in her new home she’d enjoy having a safe garden to explore and soak up the sun in.

It’s not easy to know how well she’d get on with other cats … as a mum she’s very protective of her babies, so doesn’t welcome the sight of any other cat.  This could change once she’s spayed and her kits have moved on.  So far as we know she’s not had any experience with dogs.  She’s gentle and not aggressive, so should be fine with sensible children.

We always homecheck prior to adoption and ask a minimum adoption donation of £70 for an adult neutered cat.  There’s more about our adoption process here: http://www.8livescatrescue.org/adoption-process.html     and more stories and photos of Betty here:  https://8livescatrescue.wordpress.com/  and here: www.facebook.com/8Lives
