Jethro & Smartie

So these two little ones are cousins,  and have a strory to tell.  They came from a very over populated cat house when Smartie was about 6 weeks old, and Jethro was stil in his mummy’s tummy.  It was a big arrival … three mummies who were sisters … Squiggle & Raven who had 7 kittens between them, and Jette who was heavily pregnant and gave birth to 5 kittens.  Smartie is Squiggle’s kitten, born 2 May, and Jethro is Jette’s … born 16 June.    Their siblings, apart from Rolo & Rowan (two of Raven’s kittens) have gone off to new homes in pairs, leaving an “odd one” from each litter looking for a home.   There have been various shufflings to best manage the space we have here, (you might like to check our blog for more info on that) which has resulted in Smartie moving in with her aunty Jette and cousins a few weeks ago.  They all get on well … and apart from Smartie being a bit bigger than her cousin … they could be siblings! (Jethro will no doubt catch up within a few months)

They’ve been health checked by our vet and no issues found.  They’re micorchipped and fully vaccinated (well …. almost! … Jethro has his second vacc booked for this coming week).

The kits will need to be neutered at 5-6 months old and MUST stay securely indoors until they’ve been neutered and are at least 6 months old. For safety reasons we strongly recommend that they’re kept indoors at night time and given access to a litter tray for the whole of their lives.

Once old enough to go out they’ll enjoy having a safe garden to explore and to run off their crazy kitten energy in. It’s important that this is away from busy roads.

These little ones should be fine around kids who know how to treat animals with respect. They’ve been used to sharing space with other cats – their aunties and cousins, so should be ok living with other older friendly cats.

All our adoptions come with 4 weeks free insurance from Pet Plan which is a well regarded insurance agency.

If you think your home might be the one for these two little ones please email us at: enquiries@8livescatrescue.org to get an adoption enquiry form.

We always homecheck prior to adoption and ask a minimum donation of £70 per kitten.
