We’re pretty certain this old gent was dumped  because he’s elderly – about 15 years old we believe.   He was fortunate enough to run into one of our lovely volunteers and is now safely in foster care.

He’s a sweet, loving old chap who just wants a knee to snuggle on, and to be cared for.  He’ll probably enjoy a potter around a safe garden once he’s settled in his new home.  We think he’s quite deaf … though its never easy to distinguish between true deafness and selective deafness in a cat 😉  so that needs to be added to normal considerations around safety.  He will definitely need to be back indoors at night time and have access to a litter tray indoors.

A health check with our vet revealed no obvious health issues.   He’s had flea and worm treatment and has started his vaccinations.  He’s also been neutered and microchipped.

He’ll probably be happier in a quiet home, or at least one where he’s allowed space to do things in his own time.  His lovely foster carer has other cats, kids and a dog so we’ll update the advert as we get a clearer picture of how he manages with co habiting.

We always homecheck prior to adoption, and as a minimum adoption donation of £50 for an older cat. There’s more about our adoption process here: http://www.8livescatrescue.org/adoption-process.html and you’ll probably find more photos and stories about him here: https://8livescatrescue.wordpress.com/ and here: https://www.facebook.com/8Lives/
