Fingers & Bandit

Bandit & Fingers (plus their siblings Nancy & Dodger, and their mum) seem to have been dumped in a garden when the kits were only quite young. An elderly lady had cared for them by putting out food for them, but not really interacted with them. By the time we became aware of them the kits were 6 months old, mum had moved on, and the kits were very wary of human contact. It was a big shock for them to be trapped and brought indoors and initially they hid at any sound or sight of people. Slowly we’ve been able to gain their trust and now with the people they’re familiar with, they’re affectionate and playful.

They’ve now been neutered, microchipped and completed their primary course of vaccinations. Health checks revealed no issues, and they’re up to date with flea and worm treatment.
They’ll need to be indoors for a good while until they settle (we normally suggest at least a month, but with more timid cats we’d recommend a longer period until they’ve gained trust in their new family). We strongly recommend that all cats be kept indoors at night time with access to a litter tray throughout their lives. After that they’ll probably enjoy having a safe garden to explore.

The four cats are very close to each and have been through a lot together. It’s unlikely that anyone would want to take all 4 but we want them to go to new homes in pairs. Nancy & Dodger are also advertised for adoption. It may be possible to change the pairings as they all appear to be equally close.

They need a home with someone/s who have the patience to help them continue to build their trust in people. They’ve not interacted with other cats in the rescue so uncertain whether they would get on with other cats. We would not rule out them going to a home with older, cat savvy children who understood that they need time to gain trust in new people.

We always homecheck prior to adoption, and ask a minimum donation of £70 for each kitten. There’s more about our adoption process here: http://www.8livescatrescue.org/adoption-process.html and you’ll find some more photos and stories about them (and our other cats) on our blog: https://8livescatrescue.wordpress.com/ and facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/8Lives/
