We’re not sure whether Dasher was born outdoors or abandoned outside but he’d been living in a garden for a while before coming into rescue last December.

He’s been here quite a while and that’s for several reasons … one of them being that we wanted to find him a kit of a similar age to go to his new home with, but that’s just not worked out so far (check out our blog if you’d like to see why! Hint: none of it is Dasher’s fault). A further reason is that he’s just no trouble here .. he gets on with the other cats, enjoys playing out in the garden, snuggles happily … so there’s not felt any hurry to get him moved on. The third reason is that although he’s a very happy chap with me, when visitors come he gets anxious and tends to hide in the cupboard under the sink. Regular visitors have made progress with him … it just takes some patience and effort.

He’s a sweet purry little lad who loves his cuddles once he gets to know you, and loves to play. He greets the other cats in the house (young and old) with a happy head bump.

Dasher has been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. His flea and worm treatment is all up to date. Vet check revealed no obvious health issues.
He’ll need to stay indoors for at least a month in his new home. After that he will enjoy a safe garden to explore, though we strongly recommend that cats are kept indoors at night time for their safety.
Dasher should fit happily into a home with other reasonably friendly cats. He needs someone/s with a bit of patience who can see his potential and help him achieve it. He’ll probably find it easier to be in a quiet home without kids … though we wouldn’t rule out a lovely home with sensible kids who understand that he needs some space and time.
We always homecheck prior to adoption and ask a minimum adoption donation of £80 for a neutered kitten. There’s more about our adoption process here: http://www.8livescatrescue.org/adoption-process.html and you’ll find more photos and stories about him here: https://8livescatrescue.wordpress.com/ and here: https://www.facebook.com/8Lives/
