The gorgeous Relish had been living under someone’s car for a few weeks prior to coming into rescue. Neighbours took pity on him, did their utmost to find his family and when none could be found, clubbed together to buy him a stash of food and toys to bring into rescue with him.
He’s a very likeable young man, about 5-6 months old, very purry and loving. He was kind and gentle with the 6 year old boy who was part of the main family caring for him. Sadly he wasn’t such a big hit with their older cat, or he might have stayed there. He’s been friendly though a little shy with the cats he’s met here. He’s needed a little help and encouragement to start playing again … the weight of the world was probably on his little shoulders whilst he was living rough.
He’s been health checked at our vets and all is ok. He’s fleaed and wormed, booked in for a snip and chip, and will start his vaccinations before leaving here.
Relish is young enough and sociable enough to fit into most famiies with sensible friendly children cats or dogs. He’ll need to stay indoors for a good few weeks until he’s settled (and we strongly recommend that cats are kept indoor overnight for the rest of their lives) but after that he’d enjoy having a safe garden to explore and run off his kitten energy in.
We always homecheck prior to adoption, and ask a minimum donation of £75 for a neutered kitten. There’s more about our adoption process here: http://www.8livescatrescue.org/adoption-process.html and you’ll find some more photos and stories about them (and our other cats) on our blog: https://8livescatrescue.wordpress.com/ and facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/8Lives/
