Rolo & Rowan

These two lovely kits came into rescue age about 6 weeks old,  They came with a huge combined family of mummy Raven, aunty Squiggle, three siblings and two cousins.  They were born in a home that had cared pretty well for them and their mothers, other than not getting the mum cats neutered in time to prevent their third (!) pregnancy.   They were taken into rescue when the number of cats in the house had become quite overwhelming.

They’ve been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and of course are up to date with worm and flea treatment.

They missed the boat a few months ago when the rest of the family all went to new homes.  First of all they were more shy than the others.  In a big family there are often kits who are more timid and a bit overwhelmed by the boisterous more confident kits.  Rowan was also the smallest, despite his cousins being a bit younger than him.  I don’t like the term “runt of the litter” but I guess that’s what he was … and that made him vulnerable to the tummy upset that some of the rest of the family had briefly but just shrugged off.  It really got a grip on little Rowan and has taken some months to get on top of it.

They’ve had the benefit of a lovely foster home for the last few months and have grown in confidence, especially little Rowan who has become a confident snuggle puss once he gets to know you.  Rolo is still more shy but also a little sweetheart, giving purrs and loves on her own terms.  She’s stuck by her brother through all this time and thankfully not developed any tummy troubles.

We’re looking for a quieter home for them where they continue to grow in confidence and gorgeousness.  Adopters will need to be vigiliant with appropriate worming treatment and prepared to switch to a hypoallegenic diet if Rowan’s tummy troubles were to recur.  We’re happy to discuss details of his tests and treatments with potential adopters and pass on all relevant info from our vets.

They will need to be kept securely indoors for at least a month following rehoming.    After that they’d like a safe garden, away from busy roads where they can chase off their kitten energy.  We strongly recommend that cats of all ages are kept securely indoors when its dark for their own safety, and have access to an indoor litter tray.
They are advertised together and have stuck together through a lot in their short lives.  We will only rehome them as a pair. All our adoptions offer 4 weeks insurance with Pet Plan.

We always homecheck prior to adoption and ask a minimum donation of £80 per kitten.
